Passionate Story Telling!

This is a picture that one of my guests sent me when I guided them to Golden Pavilion.

Yes, I was telling them the story related to the temple so passionately. One of my most important mottos as a guide would be “Telling my guests the story that intrigues them.” It may sound natural, but I try to share its historical background, the meaning of the objects, and what they signifies, as much as possible, instead of focusing on the complicated Japanese names of its founder or the precise age of its establishment. I do my best to let my guests realize that the experiences at shrines and temples in Kyoto are a kind of unique “Entertainment” which get more and more interesting if you know its “story” deeper.
